Once bitten, twice shy, thrice u better fucking quit

This is a post dedicated to the ill effects of smoking. Smoking may seem like a harmless activity to most people (other than damaging your body) but it is far from that for me. Two incidents now have been caused by smoking, and i think god is trying to send me signs to quit lighting that damn tabacco stick.

*Names have been altered to protect the identity of the people involved*

First incident:

A few friends and I were having supper at newton circus. We ordered quite a bit of food. We ordered a large lalas (clams) but when it arrived it was on such a small plate and there were so few of it! The portions of the rest of the food were also quite miserable. Damn cheating hawkers. Anyway, after all the food came, the guy didnt come to collect the money from us. Even after we finished eating and talking the guy was still no where to be found. So we decided to leave the table and go home. So we got up and left.

We were kinda nervous that someone would come chasing after us to demand payment. But we reached the carpark and yet still no one approached us! amazing! Being the cocky morons we are, we decided to have a victory cig. This whole time another friend of ours, kept telling us "don’t smoke here la, go elsewhere smoke, ltr that guy come out how". Then another smart ass friend said "if that guy chase us all the way here i’ll pay him for sure". Then we continued puffing our lives away.

Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, i saw a guy running out of the newton circus hawker centre, the same guy that we ordered our food from. Immediately, the group of us split and headed towards our cars. I think we may have walked too fast that the guy saw that we were running off. Then he was running towards our cars! The other car managed to drive off in time but as i was about to drive off, 3 stupid people walked in front of my vehicle, effectively eliminating any possible means of escape from the hawker-man. Obviously, we had to pay him in the end. Sigh. It would have been a bonus if we didnt have to pay.

Second incident:

A group of us went msia, had a great day out in the country that is "truly asiaaaaa", only to have our entire day spoilt and traumatised by moronic uncles who i really wanted to beat the shit out of, when we were about to cross the causeway back to singapore.

I wanted to have a cig b4 we crossed the causeway back into sg. So we stopped at the mama shop just before the immigration for a smoke. As we were smoking, we overheard this couple wanting to go to toapayoh and causeway point. So we thought since we’re on the way back to singapore, might as well give them a lift across the causeway. But i didnt know that the couple were actually discussing with one of those illegal taxi drivers to pay them to get them across to singapore.

As we were about to walk off, one of the taxi drivers threw a chair at my friend, let’s call him X. I was a lil stunned at wat just happened so i stood there and turned to look at the uncles, when the other uncle (there were 2 of them) came over and started to whack me. Obviously, my survival instincts kicked in and i tried to avoid his attacks. Fortunately, only a few weak punches landed on shoulder and head.

Not knowing why the uncle suddenly started attacking, i was about to retaliate and punch the m***** f***** (mf) back when i saw X retreating. Then i decided not to fight the stupid uncle and follow X first. So we both backed away from the 2 uncles, then we turned around and ran. The 2 slow mfs gave chase but obviously as we were young they couldnt catch up to us. We were a good 20metres distance btn them when they then decided to stop chasing us and approached our car instead. All this while the 2 ladies, Y and Z, were in the car, not knowing what was happening, and obviously worried and a lil shocked.

The blue shirt mf (the guy who threw the chair) then whacked the boot of the car damn loudly and was shouting at us; i couldnt hear what he was shouting through the noisy traffic but im guessing it is vulgarities. He then jumped onto the car bonet and stood up, all the while with Y and Z in the car. I can imagine how traumatised they must have felt. 2 innocent ladies who had no idea wat was happening but they were gettting the brunt of it.

Next thing i know the jacket mf (the guy who attacked me) went to his car and took out a metal pole, walked over to our car and was about to smash the windows or some other part of the car. Then i thought "shit, Y and Z are still in the car, better do something". I told X that the guy had a metal pole and that we should head back to the car and talk to them but X told me not to as he was calling the JB police. So i watched the jacket mf, with his pole walking along the sides of the car. If he were to so much as scratch the car or harm the 2 ladies i would run back there and beat the daylights out of them.

Luckily jacket mf decided not to damage the car and went to put the metal pole back in his car. The 2 mfs continued to hang ard the car and were talking to Y and Z in the car, all this while me and X were standing 20m away from the car and X kept calling the JB police to come. As you all probably know, the police werent reliable at all and even after half an hour not a single policeman showed up. (Never rely on JB police)

X then called Y and Z then asked them to drive the car off. Reverse all the way and then drive off towards the causeway. But obviously, by the way X was shouting at Y and Z over the phone, they were too traumatised and in shock to do such a feat. Y then msged me saying that the 2 uncles called people down already and that they wouldnt leave unless we went back to the car and settle the whole issue.

In the end, i persuaded X to go back and talk things out with them. By that time, the 2 mfs werent that violent anymore but they were still worked up. We then talked things out with them; they wanted us to compensate them for the lost business and demanded $100 each. Wtf, as if we would give them $100 each. So then we talked somemore and luckily, the guy the called down (fucking losers only managed to call one guy down yet they said they called PEOPLE down) seemed more reasonable than them. The guy they called down was younger than them and i think he saw that the 4 of us were youngsters and that Y and Z were already in shock and traumatised then he came in and intervened, scolded us a bit and then asked us to drive off. Then we drove back to singapore, with none of us saying a word in the car.

This is already the 2nd incident that was caused all bcos of smoking. All bcos of a stupid stick of tabacco. Maybe it’s really time to quit smoking. Quit that nasty habit that causes nothing but trouble. Do i have to wait until something really serious happens before i decide to quit?

More importanly, I would like to apologize to Y and Z for this episode that they’ve been through. They got most of the drama even though they were the innocent ones. They must have been traumatised really badly as they were locked in their own car with 2 crazy uncles shouting and jumping on the car and wanting to smash the windows with their metal pole. I’m truly sorry that you both had to go through such an episode and i hope that you both are alright.
